Regional Category Manager (m/f/d)

Overall description

The Regional Category Manger is responsible for developing and maintaining a strategy to source a competitive and cost-effective regional portfolio of raw materials across all manufacturing plants in their region. 
The individual as well supports Global Category Managers / Category Directors in global tasks or subcategories, by preparing, negotiating, managing, and coordinating assigned agreements.

The individual manages relationships with key suppliers and as well acts as the regional link between internal customers (business, innovation, application, Quality and Food Safety etc.) and the Global Categories and / or Regional Procurement organization. 

Your tasks

  • Strategic as described above 
  • Develop and negotiate contracts that capture an advantage for IFF and minimize risks.
  • Manage contract implementation and supplier performance.
  • Management of raw material costs
  • Responsibility for the performance of the entire portfolio in the region 
  • Alignment of defined strategies with global, regional, and local business requirements
  • Optimization of the category and supplier portfolio
  • Working closely with key departments and suppliers as well as other category teams 

What you bring to the table

  • Completed studies in business administration, supply chain management or comparable degrees
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position
  • Certified Professional or Senior Professional in Supply Management or a comparable certification in supply chain or procurement excellence
  • Extensive market and network knowledge
  • Experience with ERP software (SAP, Oracle, ...)
  • Strong communication skills and very good written and spoken English skills
  • Experience in global collaboration and matrix organizations
  • Extensive analytical and project management skills
  • Resilience, creativity, proactivity and highest ethical standards

We offer a gross annual salary starting at € 65.000,-, with a willingness to overpay with appropriate qualifications.
